Thunder Ridge Middle School offers a variety of opportunities for students to engage in after school clubs and activities. We encourage all students to pursue their interests and passions through extracurricular activities. The more involved a student is within their school, the better they will achieve and feel connected.
Please be sure to talk with your student about staying after school and communicating with you about which club/activity and days they plan on staying after to participate. After school activities run from 3:45 to 4:40 Monday – Thursday.
Research suggests that students who participate in extracurricular activities may experience a range of positive outcomes, including:
- Helping students make friends, develop social skills, and increase their sense of belonging at school.
- Building students’ teamwork and leadership skills.
- Improving students’ academic performance, standardized test scores, and grade point averages.
- Helping students develop more positive academic perspectives and aspirations.
- Boosting students’ self-esteem and resiliency, and decreasing risky behaviors.
- Helping students relax their minds and improve their confidence levels.
- Increasing students' engagement with their school, which can decrease the likelihood of dropping out and school failure.
